Taking in and finding homes for abandoned pet reptiles and amphibians is a huge part of our group!

Many new reptile owners may find themselves overwhelmed when that cute little lizard or snake that they picked up at the local pet store becomes a 6' or larger monster. When rehoming is the only option, our network of reptile-savvy volunteers is there to offer an understanding home for your animal while we work to place them permanently. Our goal is to find the right home for each animal's specific needs.

*We can take in all reptiles and amphibians EXCLUDING Venomous species.
*Crocodilians will be considered on a per-case basis.
*If you need to rehome a NH NATIVE (Such as painted turtles etc.)Please ontact the NH Fish and Game department for referral to a wildlife rehabilitator.
Looking to share your home with a reptile or amphibian?
We can help you find the right animal for your experience and commitment level.
You can permanently adopt a new member into your family, or become a temporary foster-care provider for many of the species we normally take in. Use the contact form on this page to inquire about our adoptable pets, and foster opportunities.

With so many displaced animals, we would like to try to reduce the number of animals being rehomed. That's why we offer consultation services to improve your relationship with your pet. We want to see your animals live a long, happy, and healthy life as a member of your family.

Adoption fees:

The adoption fee for any animal through UVRG is based on several factors: average retail value, difficulty of upkeep, species or color morph, and size. These fees help to cover veterinary care, maintenance, and upkeep of the animals while they are in the care of UVRG. We reserve the right to change the fee for individual animals based on their history, market value, or the conditions of the adoption.

UVRG is licensed and inspected by the NH Department of Agriculture.

All animals are certified as healthy before they are re-homed.
